Santander will be the guest city at Greencities & S-Moving 2023. In this way, the Cantabrian city council will participate in the debates, meetings and side events organised within the framework of this forum, where it will present its smart city model and its commitment to sustainable urban mobility, where digitalisation and commitment to technological innovation are a common denominator.
This commitment has been reflected both in the intense participation that the city has had in European research projects that have allowed Santander to consolidate itself as an urban laboratory of international reference. Currently, the city participates in the E-Care, Urbanage, Sedimark, Pop-Machina and NBRACER projects that address issues related to the circular economy, the improvement of services to citizens or the mitigation of the effects of the climate field.
With the integration of the SDGs as part of its city strategy and a clear focus on the citizen as the protagonist of the smart city, Santander will share its reflection on the challenges for the improvement of urban sustainability and mobility in urban environments. It will also share the actions it is developing to improve the services offered to citizens as Santander Smart Citizen.
In addition, the city will unveil its future plans to remain a benchmark in urban sustainability and digitisation of public services.
